Pro is a black comedy
about feuding golf pros on pretentious English golf
courses, and the dangers of modern sports psychologists.
A spoof self-help video, following the misadventures of
Tony Kirby, a one-time child golfing prodigy who never
quite made it to the top of his game. Now stuck as golf pro
at a prestigious Surrey course, Tony struggles to break his
losing streak over the course of a series of self help
golfing films, spurred on by his lifecoach and friend, Tim
Gillingham, the local tennis pro.
Unfortunately, when Tony comes up against his nemesis,
Dorking Golf Centre’s local legend Colin Parks, all
his preparations start to unravel – and we’re
in for a completely different type of lesson
altogether…
The
Pro is the third short
film by Toby Leslie & Hugo Currie. Shot on HiDef by
Cameron Barnett, the short will be screened at various
festivals over 2007, check back here for more details !
The film was developed with Arcane Pictures, as a pilot
towards raising funding and interest for the feature film
of the same name, due to shoot in England late 2007/early
2008.
