THE COOKIE THIEF
With a background in the production of commercials Toby Leslie and Hugo Currie made their debut, The Cookie Thief in 1999, and secured a Palme d'Or nomination at Cannes, the only British nominee that year. The film has since been seen in over 20 festivals worldwide, including Hong Kong, Paris, Athens, London, Cork, Rome, Sao Paolo, Miami, Buenos Aires, Brussels & Kerala. International sales have been completed to Canal Plus, Canal International, Multicanal International, Channel 4, six international airlines, as well as a worldwide live webcast from the London Film Festival website in September 1999. The film has also been shown numerous times at the Odeon Leicester Square, and was shortlisted for a BAFTA nomination, 2000.

LIFEHOUSE
In 2000, they directed the concert film and documentary of Pete Townshend's only performance of Lifehouse, a legendary concept with 25 years between recording and live performance. The concert film won the Yahoo Online Music Event of the year 2001, pipping Madonna's live webcast from Brixton Academy. The DVD was released by Image Entertainment to critical acclaim.

THE PRO
Heralded as one of “tomorrow’s auteurs” by Screen International, the boys have been developing a roster of feature ideas. Most recently they filmed a short as a precursor to the feature film, The Pro , a comedy starring Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia, Coupling), Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, This Life) and Mark Heap (Green Wing, Big Train), set in the world of parochial England's golfing community. The film was co-produced with Arcane Pictures, and is on the festival circuit, as well as being the first of Shorts International’s sell-throughs on the iTunes music store.

FAT CHANCE
In 2001, Hugo & Toby were commissioned to direct their next film, Fat Chance as part of Film Four's Short Cuts initiative. The film follows a real-time bungled heist in a South London betting shop. The directors worked with art director Jane Morton (Lynne Ramsay's close collaborator), to create a 360 degree purpose-built set of the betting shop, incorporating floating walls to aid the varied camera techniques they developed with Director of Photography, Ian Wilson (The Crying Game, Backbeat & Below).

Fat Chance
was nominated for best short film at the Rushes Soho Short Film Festival 2001, and was also shown as part of the Kodak Cinematography Showcase at the BAFTA theatre, Piccadilly. The film has been shown at festivals worldwide, and has been sceened on Channel Four and Film Four.

BURNT
In 2008 Big Daddy Films were excited to team up with Powderblue Pictures to write and direct Burnt, a con film set in the heart of the glamorous world of London's financial elite, and based on real life events.

2009 sees the start of financing on
Burnt, continued development on Powerstation, the second co-production between Big Daddy Film Company and Powderblue Films, as well as a slate of other feature film projects.
